A few days ago, an attentive walker made an unexpected discovery in the stunning setting of the Abbey of Villers-la-Ville: a young Eurasian eagle owl (Bubo bubo) was on the ground, unable to fly.
Clearly in distress, the bird required immediate intervention.

On July 6, 2025, the Animal Disaster Team (ADT) was called in at the request of the Jemeppe-sur-Sambre Police for a delicate animal rescue operation in a severely neglected home.
The intervention followed the hospitalization of the resident, who suffers from Diogenes syndrome—a condition marked by the extreme accumulation of objects and waste.

On Monday evening, a citizen in Florennes witnessed a deeply shocking act of cruelty. Two kittens were heartlessly thrown from a moving car.
While one of them was quickly rescued by the witness, the other—more fearful—ran off into the nearby woods, causing great concern.

Firefighters were alerted immediately and did everything they could to locate the kitten, but without success. Given the urgency, they called in our specialized Animal Disaster Team for help.

This weekend, the Animal Disaster Team (ADT) had the pleasure and honour of taking part in the Open Day at the Andenne fire station. A warm and educational event that gave both young and old the chance to discover the world of emergency services — and animal rescue too!

On Wednesday, June 11, a violent fire broke out in a home in Quaregnon, putting the lives of several pets in danger. Among them were nine dogs, trapped inside the building at the time of the incident.

As every year during Aïd al-Kebir, the Animal Disaster Team maintained a heightened level of mobilisation throughout the weekend, ready to respond at the request of the authorities in any situation that could jeopardise animal welfare.
