UNEXPECTED RESCUE OF INJURED CAT IN SOMBREFFE
While on their way to a scheduled intervention, a rescue team came across a cat that had been hit by a car in Sombreffe. The animal was quickly taken to Malcourant Veterinary Clinic for emergency treatment. As the cat is not microchipped, the team is now trying to locate its owner.

ROE DEER SEVERELY INJURED IN DOG ATTACK IN ASSE
A young roe deer had to be euthanised after being severely attacked by a dog in a garden in Asse. The animal suffered a serious abdominal injury and could not be saved. We advise keeping pets indoors whenever wild animals are present in the garden.

ANIMALS RESCUED AGAIN FROM SAME ADDRESS IN ORP-JAUCHE
Despite a previous ban on keeping animals, eight severely emaciated animals have once again been rescued from neglectful conditions at a property in Orp-Jauche. The dogs, cats and rabbit were immediately transferred to animal shelters.

DUCK WITH LARGE NECK TUMOUR RESCUED IN JEMAPPES PARK
A duck with a large tumour on its neck has been safely captured in Jemappes Park following reports from concerned visitors. The bird was taken to the Perwez wildlife rescue centre, where it is due to undergo surgery to remove the tumour. If the recovery goes well, the duck will be released back into the wild.

BARN OWL RESCUED FROM CHIMNEY IN SINT-LAUREINS-BERCHEM
A barn owl trapped inside a chimney in Sint-Laureins-Berchem has been rescued by touch alone. After receiving care at the VOC SOS Wilde Dieren wildlife rescue centre, the weakened bird made a full recovery and was soon able to return to the wild.

INJURED BUZZARD RESCUED FROM A HORSE PASTURE IN KESTER
An injured buzzard with a broken wing was rescued by our teams from a horse pasture in Kester. The bird was transferred to VOC SOS Wilde Dieren.
