The Animal Disaster Team recently had the great privilege of meeting our Dutch colleagues from Stichting Dieren in Rampen en Dierenbescherming during an inspiring visit to the Netherlands.
This day was a deep dive into their world, showcasing their exceptional dedication to animal welfare. 🐾
A Visit Filled with Learning and Inspiration
🐾 Exploring the Dierenbescherming Control Center
The main headquarters of animal rescue operations in the Netherlands, the Dierenbescherming control center, left us impressed with its efficiency and organization. This strategic hub coordinates rescue missions across the country and serves as a model for managing emergencies involving animals.
🚑 Animal Ambulances: Vehicles Dedicated to Rescue
We had the chance to explore animal ambulances specially designed for quick interventions and immediate care for animals in distress. Equipped with tailored medical supplies, these vehicles play a crucial role in animal rescue operations.
🏡 Tour of the Shelter for Domestic and Wild Animals
Visiting the shelter gave us insight into a thoughtfully designed space dedicated to rehabilitating domestic and wild animals. Each animal receives personalized care to restore their well-being and safety. It’s a true second chance for those who need it most.
An Inspiration for ADT
This visit was an invaluable source of inspiration and learning. We were deeply moved by the innovation, organization, and solidarity that define the work of Stichting Dieren. These exchanges reaffirm our belief that international collaboration is essential to improving animal welfare and developing ever-more effective solutions.
