Urgent Rescue Operation for a Horse in Distress
During a rescue operation, ADT sprang into action to assist a 32-year-old horse in distress that was immobilized. The intervention was initiated following a call from the fire department of the Hainaut-East Rescue Zone, alerting to the animal's critical condition. The horse was stuck in mud and could not stand up.
The horse showed clear signs of severe hypothermia and appeared to have been in this condition for several days. After a thorough examination by a veterinarian on-site, it was confirmed that the animal was suffering from severe hypothermia and that its heart was showing signs of failure. Faced with this desperate situation, the decision was made, in consultation with the veterinarian, to proceed with euthanasia to end its suffering and give it a dignified farewell.
Another horse, named Seven, was also present at the location and showed alarming signs of declining health. To prevent him from meeting the same tragic fate, a swift decision was made to urgently relocate him to a healthier and more suitable environment.
Thanks to the Tabula Rasa shelter, Seven was able to receive immediate care. This partnership provided him with a chance to recover and the hope of a life in better conditions. A heartfelt thank you to the shelter for their invaluable help in this delicate situation.
