Rescue of a Young Wild Boar Sow: The Beginning of a New Life

19.03.2025

The intervention by our teams in the field marks a turning point in the life of a young wild boar sow. When alerted by the City of Marche-en-Famenne and the Famenne Ardenne Police Zone, we acted swiftly and determinedly to rescue this young animal from unsuitable conditions.

The situation was concerning: isolated, without companions, and confined to an enclosure far too small, the young sow was unable to express her natural behaviors. The steep terrain and the height of the site made the rescue particularly technical. Thanks to the collective effort and the expertise of our teams, the rescue was carried out safely.

A Fresh Start at Silence Animal Sanctuary

Immediately after her rescue, the young sow was transferred to the Silence Animal sanctuary, where she is finally discovering an environment adapted to her needs. There, she enjoys a cozy nest and a balanced diet, with a generous portion of fruits such as apples and bananas, essential for her recovery.

After a quarantine period, she will join other companions, gradually regaining a social and fulfilling life.
