RESCUE IN MALONNE: HADÈS, A CAT STRANDED MORE THAN 12 METRES HIGH

A cat stranded for several days

In Malonne, a cat named Hadès found himself trapped more than 12 metres above the ground in a tree.

Over time, this type of situation can become particularly concerning. Fatigue, fear, cold weather and stress often prevent animals from finding their way back down on their own. What may initially seem harmless can quickly turn into a genuine emergency.

An intervention to rescue the animal

After being alerted to the situation, ADT teams travelled to the scene to assist the stranded cat.

Thanks to a carefully planned and supervised intervention, Hadès was safely recovered without putting his life at risk. The operation brought an end to several days of stress and confinement for the animal.

More common than many people think

Cats stranded at height are a frequent occurrence for animal rescue teams.

Contrary to the common belief that "the cat will eventually come down by itself," this is not always the case. After many hours or even several days, some animals become too exhausted, frightened or disoriented to descend safely.

In such situations, intervention can be essential to prevent serious injuries or a dangerous fall.

Acting when an animal is in distress

When an animal is in difficulty, every minute can matter. Whenever intervention is possible, it is important not to assume that the situation will resolve itself.

Prompt reports allow the situation to be assessed and, when necessary, enable rescue teams to step in and provide assistance.
