Rescue at height for Charlie
At ADT – Animal Disaster Team, every intervention is an opportunity to highlight the dedication and professionalism of our teams, always ready to respond to calls for animals in distress. Today, we are proud to share the inspiring story of Charlie, a young cat who regained trust and safety thanks to the swift and careful intervention of our volunteers.
Alerted by the fire brigade, our teams mobilized to rescue Charlie. The situation was critical: after being chased by a dog, the poor cat had fled up a fragile branch, ten meters high, on an old tree. Paralyzed with fear and unable to climb down, Charlie was in great danger.
A delicate and well-executed operation
Reaching Charlie was not an easy task. The old, unstable tree offered little to hold on to, making the maneuver complex. However, thanks to meticulous preparation, caution, and exemplary patience, our team managed to climb up to the branch where the young cat was stranded. Every move was carefully planned to ensure her safety and build an atmosphere of trust. Once safely in our arms, Charlie’s fear gradually gave way to a newfound trust — a sign of the effectiveness of our respectful and attentive approach.
A happy and hopeful outcome
Charlie’s rescue didn’t end with bringing her safely down. Once reunited with her owners and companions, human warmth and comfort helped the cat regain her bearings. This success strengthens our conviction: every animal life matters and deserves an appropriate and humane response. At ADT, we are proud to offer this support, day after day, across Belgium.
