Open day at the Andenne fire station: a day of sharing and demonstrations
This weekend, the Animal Disaster Team (ADT) had the pleasure and honour of taking part in the Open Day at the Andenne fire station — a warm and informative event where young and old alike got to discover the world of emergency response… and animal rescue too!
In collaboration with the fire station teams, we carried out two animal rescue demonstrations, focusing in particular on horse rescue scenarios. The goal? To give a real-life look at how firefighters and ADT responders join forces in the field to save animals in distress — often in complex and challenging conditions.
The demonstrations drew great interest from the public, eager to learn more about our techniques and the specialised equipment we use.
Throughout the day, we had the pleasure of engaging with many kind, curious and passionate visitors. It was a wonderful opportunity to:
- present our mission across Belgium,
- raise awareness about emergency animal rescue,
- and share our commitment to helping animals affected by disasters, accidents or abuse.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks:
- to the Andenne fire station for their warm welcome,
- to all the firefighters present for their trust and collaborative spirit,
- to every visitor who took the time to meet and talk with us,
- and to 112 Com and Tristan Cloet for their stunning photos that beautifully captured the day.
