A new agreement signed to protect animals in times of disaster
We’re proud to announce the official signing of an agreement between the Animal Disaster Team and the Governor of the Province of Luxembourg, Olivier Schmitz, with the aim of strengthening the protection of animals in crisis situations.
This agreement marks a concrete step toward a goal we deeply believe in: never again forgetting animals when disaster strikes.
Thanks to this partnership, ADT teams can now be mobilised more efficiently to support provincial authorities, particularly in the event of:
- natural or man-made disasters,
- major incidents involving animals,
- or emergency evacuations of animals at risk.
This new agreement complements the one already in place with the Province of Namur, expanding both our territorial reach and ability to act on the ground.
We extend our sincere thanks to:
- the Provincial Security Cell,
- and Governor Olivier Schmitz, for their openness, trust, and commitment to our cause.
By recognising animals as full-fledged victims within civil protection plans, this approach marks real progress in crisis management policies.
This signing is more than just an administrative agreement — it’s a commitment to act swiftly, work together, and show compassion when every moment counts.
Another step forward in fully integrating animal welfare into emergency response protocols.
Together, let’s keep moving towards better care for the most vulnerable — no matter who they are.
