Intervention following a police search: rescue of animals in distress

At the request of the police services, Animal Disaster Team (ADT) responded to an emergency intervention during the execution of a search warrant at an unsanitary property linked to weapons and drug trafficking.

Inside the residence, our teams discovered several animals living in highly concerning conditions:

• Snakes, tarantulas, an axolotl and a gecko
• A cat confined alone in an attic

The conditions were particularly alarming:

• A single makeshift room containing only a few pieces of wood
• Different species housed together without facilities adapted to their specific needs
• A cat kept in isolation, with no outdoor access and no proper care

Thanks to the rapid response of our volunteers and the close coordination with the police and our partner organisations, all animals were safely removed from the property.

➡️ The exotic pets were transferred to Carapace, where they are now receiving specialist care.
➡️ The cat was entrusted to Sans Collier, where it now benefits from a safe environment and the care it needs.
