A critical intervention took place in Charleroi, where several cats were discovered in alarming conditions, abandoned without water or food in a dilapidated house. The operation was carried out by the ADT team in collaboration with the Charleroi police, following numerous complaints from local residents.

The night before the intervention, a cat had attempted to escape through a window and became stuck. Neighbors managed to free the cat and immediately raised the alarm on social media, drawing the authorities’ attention.

Upon arrival, rescuers encountered a distressing scene: access to the house was blocked by waste and excrement. When the door was opened, the starving and terrified cats tried to escape. A thorough inspection of the property revealed 15 cats, of which, unfortunately, 6 had already died. The 9 surviving cats were in critical condition, suffering from severe dehydration and malnutrition.

The animals were quickly transported to partner shelters, including the SPA of La Louvière and the Sans Collier organization, to receive the necessary care. Sadly, one of the cats did not survive, leaving 8 others in a very concerning condition.
