EMERGENCY RESCUE ON THE N55: TWO ROAMING PIGS, MAJOR ROAD CLOSED

A critical situation on a busy road

ADT teams were urgently mobilised after being alerted by the police to a particularly hazardous situation on the N55. Two pigs were wandering on the road, putting both themselves and road users at significant risk.

Given the immediate danger of a collision, the police took the necessary decision to close the road in both directions, allowing emergency services to intervene safely.

Two separate rescue operations

Upon arrival, a first pig had already been contained by police officers. ADT immediately took over to ensure the animal was safely secured while minimising stress and safeguarding its welfare.

Meanwhile, the second pig had moved away from the initial area, creating a new risk along this busy traffic route. A second targeted intervention was therefore required to locate and safely capture the animal.

Safe and secure thanks to teamwork

Through effective cooperation between the police and ADT teams, both pigs were eventually brought to safety.

The animals were then transferred to the sanctuary Le Rêve d’Aby, where they are now receiving proper care and living in a safe environment.

This intervention once again highlights the importance of rapid coordination between emergency services when animals in distress create risks for both themselves and the public.
