EMERGENCY RESCUE IN LESVE: ELDERLY MARE HELPED BACK ONTO HER FEET

A delicate intervention for a mare in difficulty

ADT was contacted by the NAGE Fire Department for a sensitive intervention in Lesve. An elderly mare had fallen in her stall and could no longer get back up by herself.

In this type of situation, time is an important factor. When a horse remains lying down for too long, the risk of complications increases quickly. An appropriate intervention is therefore necessary to help the animal stand up without worsening her condition.

Rapid mobilisation of the teams

In response to the situation, specialised equipment was quickly deployed to carry out the lifting operation in the best possible conditions, while ensuring the safety of both the animal and the responders.

When ADT teams arrived, the veterinarian on site had already stabilised the mare, an essential step that made it possible to prepare the intervention in a calm and controlled environment.

A precise lifting operation

The mare was lifted gradually, step by step, using a lifting system adapted for large animals.

Once back on her feet, she was kept in the device for as long as necessary to ensure that she had regained enough stability and balance.

A reassuring return to the paddock

After a period of observation, the mare was able to be led back to the paddock, where she could calmly regain her bearings.

A rescue made possible through cooperation

This type of operation highlights the importance of coordination between the different field responders.
