Emergency at the entrance to the Brussels Ring: two goats rescued from the motorway zone

This weekend, the Animal Disaster Team (ADT) was urgently called in by the highway police for a high-risk operation: two goats had been spotted wandering near the entrance to the Brussels Ring, right in the middle of a motorway zone.

The situation was particularly delicate:

• A vast and open environment,
• multiple busy traffic lanes,
• and many escape routes,

all of which made the rescue both complex and extremely dangerous — for the animals as well as for drivers.

Once on site, our teams immediately coordinated their efforts with the authorities to:

• Secure the area,
• locate the two goats,
• and set up a safe capture strategy.

It took several hours of patience, terrain analysis, and anticipation of the animals’ reactions to bring the situation under control.

Thanks to the close cooperation between the ADT and law enforcement, both goats were safely recovered without injury and returned to their original enclosure.
