DUCKLINGS IN DISTRESS RESCUED

A rapid intervention to save several ducklings

This weekend, walkers raised the alarm after discovering several ducklings trapped in a hole, unable to climb out on their own.

As soon as the report was received, an ADT team immediately headed to the scene to rescue the animals safely.

Thanks to the quick response and the vigilance of the people present, the ducklings were recovered before their situation could deteriorate further.

Ducklings weakened by cold weather

Unfortunately, it was impossible to determine how long the ducklings had been trapped.

When the teams arrived, some were already showing clear signs of hypothermia caused by prolonged exposure to cold and damp conditions.

After being freed, the mother duck instinctively left with the strongest ducklings, while the weaker ones were unable to follow.

Transfer to the CREAVES of Ransart

The most vulnerable ducklings were immediately taken into care by ADT, where they received first aid and were placed in a safe environment.

They were then transferred to the CREAVES wildlife rescue centre in Ransart, where they are currently receiving specialised care and treatment to support their recovery.

Public vigilance makes all the difference

ADT warmly thanks the walkers who reported the situation for their attentiveness and quick action.

Every report can help save animal lives and prevent tragic outcomes. Thanks to this rapid mobilisation, several ducklings were rescued and received the care they needed in time.
