Challenge Trauma 2025: a real-life dive into the world of emergency care
The Animal Disaster Team (ADT) was honoured to take part in Challenge Trauma 2025, held at the Jambes fire station and organised by the NAGE Emergency Zone in collaboration with the teaching teams from Henallux Paramedical.
It was an intense, enriching and deeply instructive day, focused on interdisciplinary collaboration, hands-on training and the sharing of expertise — all in the service of one shared goal: saving lives, both human and animal.
Our teams took part in six realistic rescue simulations, each involving the joint care of:
- a horse in distress and a human casualty,
in collaboration with: - local firefighting units,
- the VUSC,
- and future nurses specialising in emergency care.
Each scenario provided an opportunity to apply the skills of different professional teams in a safe but demanding environment — as close as possible to real-life emergency conditions.
For ADT, this was a valuable opportunity to:
✔ Strengthen operational ties with professionals from the human emergency sector,
✔ Test and refine our animal rescue techniques in an interdisciplinary crisis setting,
✔ Learn from other responders in a spirit of mutual respect, kindness and cooperation.
More than just a technical exercise, this day was all about working together — training together in order to respond better, together.
We warmly thank:
- the NAGE Emergency Zone,
- the Henallux teaching teams,
- and all participants for their professionalism, their warm welcome, and their unwavering commitment.
For ADT, training moments like these are essential, they help us anticipate, collaborate and act more effectively when every second counts.
